The great-grandson of John McLean visited Prince Albert in July as he sought information about his family roots. Ray McLean, his wife Lorna, and twin grandsons visited the Diocesan archives before paying their respects at his grave site. The McLeans, from Chetwynd, British Columbia, were pleased to receive accurate information regarding members of their illustrious forebears.
John McLean, the first bishop of the Diocese of Saskatchewan, was consecrated May 3rd, 1874, by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend Archibald Campbell Tait, at the Lambeth parish church of St. Mary. He served as bishop of the Diocese until his death tragic death on November 6th, 1886.
